LEGO Cement Truck

This is my LEGO Cement Truck.  The drum can turn around, and it has a tube for the cement to go down.

LEGO Garbage Truck

This is my LEGO garbage truck. It has a compactor.  It can dump out the back, and it can compact shredded paper--and a lot of it.

Easter Eggs

 

After Easter we hard-boiled some eggs.  Then we grated some crayons onto a little plate.  Then we sprinkled that onto a hot egg and it melted.  The egg looked kind of like a candle when it burns and the wax drips down the side.  We also colored and painted some of the eggs.  I colored one egg to look like a bee.  Mommy made a beautiful blue egg that made me think of the sky or the ocean.  McCance made a fire-colored egg.  I also made a green egg that looked like spring grass.

Feldman Fieldmouse

I read Feldman Fieldmouse, A Fable by Nathaniel Benchley.  The setting is in the meadow where a pond is and Lonny Stebbins‘ house, and it possibly takes place around the 1970s.  The main character is Feldman Fieldmouse  who is not lazy, likes to see the moon and rabbits moon dancing , a grown-up mouse and uncle to Fendall.  Fendall he’s lazy, likes food, he’s always thinking about food which distracts him from listening.  Lonny Stebbins he’s a boy who wants to save the mice, he talks with Fendall and Feldman and is friendly to them.  Feldman came out of the cellar into the onion bin in the kitchen and would only come out at night for food.  He was very careful because all of his family except Fendall and himself were poisoned.  Feldman teaches Fendall to not be lazy and to not be afraid of owls.  They have a moon dance with the rabbits at the end and Fendall has to use what he has learned.  I really like the book because I like to hear about Feldman and Fendall’s life.

Alice in Wonderland

On Friday we went to a play put on by Rose of Athens Theatre.  The title of the play was Alice in Wonderland.  If I were an actor in the play I would play the role of the White Rabbit.  I liked it when the cards kept falling down when Alice said Queen.  I have felt like Alice when I don't know what to do.

Homeschool

 When I do school work, I usually sit at the kitchen table to do my Bible Study, my writing, my phonics and my spelling.  I often read and do math on the couch.  Mommy, M, and I do science outside and we do verbal math on our walk.  My favorite subject is math because I like adding different numbers.  I like homeschool because I think it is more fun than school at a school from what my Daddy says.

Well right now I can't think of anything except jokes and riddles so I'm not putting any pictures on here.

About books

Well, yes,  I do like Encyclopedia Brown books.  I also like the Boxcar Children series and the Henry Reed books. The Henry Reed books I have were a present to my Dad from Aunt Mona. I like mystery books because I like the suspense.  Here are some of the book covers. I also put two Encyclopedia Brown books above.

Things

Yesterday Mommy planted some coleus, begonia and autumn fern in these flower beds that Daddy and Papa Terry built. Aren't they pretty? Oh!  I forgot to mention the coleus and begonia only last this year.  They're annuals and the fern is a perennial.

On Wednesday we went on a walk and saw some pretty clouds.

On Wednesday evening we had some spaghetti sauce and the recipe was from the book I Don't Want To Go.
