Our Pets

We have 2 cats and one dog.
Here are some pictures of them.

This is Cote when we first got her. (I think she is feisty.)
We adopted Cote after she was dumped at the dog shelter.

This was one of her favorite spots. Cote is pronounced /ko-tee/.
She is named after the author of the book in the picture.

She still does this when she comes in, but the cats stay on the screened-in porch most of the time.
She also likes to play outside and climb trees.

This is our other cat, Mr. Polacco. He is named after Patricia Polacco, a children's book author.
He likes to eat and counter surf, however my mom is not a fan of that sport.

 He sleeps a lot.

He also does this a lot.
Dad found him in our compost pile right before our big snow and we kept him.

 Cote has tiger markings everywhere.

Here are the cats on the bed together.

This is Ady.  Her full name is Adelaide.
She likes to play in the dog park in the park across the road.

This is Mr. Polacco on Cora's bed. Sometimes we call him Big Boy or Mr. P or Polacco.

This is Ady resting in her "pathetic mode."

And here is Cote Mischievous in the bouncy seat. She also has gotten in a skillet.

Ady is 11 years old, Polacco is 19 months old, and Cote is 14 months old.

Lego Mini City

I built a mini city. It is a model of a city smaller scale than Legos that fit mini-figures.   I got the idea for this from the Panorama, which is a mini New York city that took 100 people three years to make. (You can see it at the Queens Museum of Art.) It was fun to create because I had to figure out the scale and what to put in it.

This is the fire station.

This is the inside.

I used PicMonkey (It's a photo editor.) for the arrows and the labeled photos.
It is very easy to use and works well for blogs.

Lego Egyptian House

I am posting this house because I wanted to do it for school.  I was studying Egyptian history.  I tried to make it as authentic as possible.

 Here is the house.

 This is the living room.

 These are the stairs.

This is the kitchen from the front.

This is the kitchen from the side.  I don't know if you can see, but there are cookies on the counter.

This is the bathroom. They have a shovel for scooping the toilet.

The boy sleeps on the roof so the air blows over him.

This is the guest room. It's on the roof too.

This is the shed for the horse.

 Here is the horse.

the granaries and the open door

This house could be an Egyptian peasant's house because in the country you can have any size house as long as you build it.

Lego Tow Truck

I made a Lego tow truck and this YouTube video is where I got my idea.  Now here are the details.

Here is the front.
You can see it has a Texas bumper, which is a bumper that is wide and low.

Here is the side front. The black piece next to the door is the air filter.

The cab side. ( Like the smokestacks? )

Yep, the doors open. (Still like the smokestacks?)

Top front view. (Like the skylight?)
Inside there's a bunk bed and a cabinet.
With a pistol. (He doesn't use it much.)

  The lights and the winch.

The yellow piece closest to you is for towing.

These are the booms and they turn.

See?

They go up and down too.

The red piece is the turntable.

The little thing with wheels is a segway.

But I realized I forgot a engine, air horns, mirrors, stabilizers, and tools. So I added them.

 Here is the truck.

Here is the front and the mirrors.

 The air horns.

 The hood and engine.

 The engine.

The white piece is the hinge for the toolbox.

Here are all the tools.

This is the other side.

These are the stabilizers.

That is where he stores his segway.

The red thing inside is a blender.

The green triangle is the pillow for the bunk bed.

Front view again.

  The lights again.

This is looking down the booms.

The thing on the back again. (Do you know what it's called?)

That's how long the tow cable is.
But I forgot that, on trucks like this the whole front tilts forward.

So here are the final improvements.
Opening...

 Opening...

Open!

 Much more space.

 Jack. It was McCance's idea.
